Worldbuilding is all about context. Ninety-nine percent of the worldbuilding we do in our stories is dedicated to creating context for everything else in the story–setting, character, plot, theme, etc.. We’ll delve into what worldbuilding is and what elements we need from it, how to use the worldbuilding elements best in our own stories. We will use the first three pages of your manuscript or story as worksheets focusing on your genre and genre elements and your overall story as a guide. Time to build!
About the Instructor:
Pat Hauldren is a science fiction & fantasy author who teaches writing workshops online and live around the world. She has presented classes with online writers’ groups as well as community colleges and in Europe. Pat’s writing classes are a dynamic working writing experience for the student. The student gets extensive one-on-one time for rigorous personal attention and feedback as well as active class participation.
