Each genre has it’s own shorthand–tropes or elements–that make a genre that specific genre. Bestselling genre-writing authors use those tropes to feed their readers’s needs. Romance readers crave romantic elements. Fantasy readers desire unreal elements. Regardless of the genre you are writing\, weaving in those genre tropes is one of the best methods for feeding your reader’s genre addictions. To generate gorgeous genre stories\, we must learn the elements/tropes and use them to best effect. In this class\, we’ll analyze others’ work and enhance our own first three pages.
