Baylor University’s Beall Poetry Festival is a three-day celebration of contemporary poetry, with poetry readings, a panel discussion, and the Virginia Beall Ball Lecture on Contemporary Poetry. The festival is supported by the John A. and DeLouise McClelland Beall Endowed Fund, established in 1994 by Mrs. Virginia B. Ball to honor her parents and to encourage the writing and appreciation of poetry.

Beneath Fort Worth Skies

ed. by the Forth Worth Poetry Society

I have 3 poems published here.

Beneath Fort Worth Skies is an anthology of 71 poems by 16 members of the Fort Worth Poetry Society reflecting diverse interests and styles. There is something here for any taste. The poems range from very traditional to modern. The subjects are diverse, as well.

I have 3 poems in this poetry anthology and for the life of me, I cannot remember which ones!

Due to some in-group politics, the publication was later pulled offline. I will, however, dig out my copy and add my titles soon as I can.

Blue Hole: A Magazine of the Georgetown Poetry Festival

Again, can’t remember which poems I published here. The Georgetown Poetry Festival has been a yearly poetry event in Georgetown, Texas. Not sure if the event is still ongoing as of this writing in 2026. I’ll update if I have any news.

Start Date: Monday, July 6, 2026
End Date: Friday, July 31, 2026

Your readers crave the essential elements that make their favorite genres irresistible—and it’s your job to deliver them brilliantly. Genre fiction thrives on tropes: those familiar yet powerful building blocks that readers expect and love. Master these elements, and you’ll have the tools to craft stories that satisfy genre expectations while standing out from the crowd. In this workshop, we’ll explore how to identify, adapt, and elevate classic genre tropes to create fiction that keeps readers hungry for more.

She’s running from the darkness. But what lurks inside her is darker.

The debut novel from award-winning author Pat Hauldren explores questions of who we think we are vs the truth of who we are, and the price we pay no matter the path taken.

Life is not simple for Zarachiel, freshly escaped from her drug-dealing foster parents in deep South Texas. In Dallas, she stays off the grid. She finds a new family in Gracie, from whom she leases an extra bedroom, and Katie, Gracie’s four-year-old daughter.

The cartel attacks just as Zarachiel makes contact with her biological father. They want what she stole from them.

Amid chaos and survival for both her and her new family, Zarachiel discovers her true nonhuman self as she fights for her freedom and the freedom of humanity.
